whanganui arts review

Carey Smith & Co Ltd have generously agreed to continue their role of principal sponsor of the annual Arts Review and will again be providing a $1000 Open Award, $500 Student Award and, this year, two Highly Commended Awards each of $250.

The Review is open to all artists living and working in the Whanganui region and two works per artist may be submitted.

Entry is $20.00 per artwork with a 50%discount for current financial Members of the Gallery.

A panel will select the exhibition and all awards will be decided by a judge from outside this region.

The receiving date for entries is Wednesday August 27, between 10.30am and 4.30pm and the exhibition will on view from September 14 to November 9.

Warren Viscoe, The Taxidermist patron member's acquisitions

We would like to acknowledge our 30 valued Patron Members whose subscriptions enable the purchasing of artworks for the Gallery's Permanent Collection. A special function for Patrons was held recently at which the most recent works purchased” were presented and discussed. We are delighted with the very tangible benefits to the collection that this category of membership enables and thank these Members most sincerely. Recent acquisitions are:

Patron Membership is just $125 per annum (but not limited to that amount!) and application forms are available at Front of House or on our website. Decisions have been announced for the next round of Tylee Cottage Artists-in-Residence. The successful applicants are;
